Name: Complementation of CTB7 in the Maize Pathogen Cercospora zeina Overcomes the Lack of In Vitro Cercosporin Production Link to publication:https://apsjournals.apsnet.org/doi/10.1094/MPMI-03-17-0054-R#tbl3 NCBI bioproject ID: PRJNA369690 Category: RNA-Seq, stress Description: To understand maize responses to grey spot disease, maize inbred line B73 at V12 growth stage were subjected to natural infection of C.zeina at the Hildesheim Research Station, PANNAR SEED (Pty) Ltd., Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal. GLS disease lesions formed on the lower leaves of B73 maize plants prior to sampling (77 DAP). Total RNA was isolated from leaf tissue with minimal and severe C. infection using Qiazol, treated with DNase and purified with RNeasy Plant Mini Kit according to manufacturer’s instructions (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany). RNA-seq reads were mapped by MaizeGDB to Zm-B73-REFERENCE-NAM-5.0. using STAR. Bigwig files were generated using bedtools genomecov -split -scale 1.0 followed by kentUtils bedGraphToBigWig.
